Scribblings
There is distant thunder behind the suburbs,
behind the rarest grace of soft night,
the sand-washed darkness of fragile leaves
under the veiled images of fire.
Another August is past, and we are tethered back into Time.
Does this mean I must live another year; die
for another whole year, breathe another whole breath
of wasteful air and wasteful need?
Will you not take me
among the half-remembered mirrors
and the shadow of green that recedes into night?
Will you not take the purpose, the direction,
the will, the love, the truth, the ethic:
the things I never saw that must have been here
somewhere; will you not reach out and pick them
out of me like a string of pearls?
so that in letting them go, I could see
them, just once, just once know them and that they were;
that I was not born in vain -
for then I could be ready to go.

Here are some things I have written in the past couple of years. It's
not enough; it's not good enough; so the main reason for these is, again,
communication.
They are here because they express something I wanted to throw out there for
those elusive twins, Contact and Connection.
But they are practice. And that matters.
Poetic Scribblings
Some of my poems are in Finnish, some in English. I have noticed that
putting an idea in English first helps me not to become too self-conscious
about it, and then translating the result into Finnish helps me to get rid of
all the horribly common cliches that creep in when one is not using one's
mother tongue. However, despite many good intentions, I have not had the
energy to tinker with most of the newest ones to get as far as the Finnish
version. (Some of them, however, were originally written in Finnish. I'll
leave it as an exercise to the reader to determine if the different methods
show.)
Miscellaneous sketches concerning live-action games
These will all be in Finnish. Sorry.
Sekalaisia live-roolipelitekstejä, ennen kaikkea hahmojen tarinoita.
Lisää saattaa ilmaantua.
